Leeds Amateur Dramatic Society has been performing to the village for over 25 years. There are three annual events: Panto – This takes place over a weekend in mid February in the Leeds Memorial Hall. It is the coming together of many local talents – actors, singers, dancers, scene painters, scenery builders, musicians, costumiers, sound and light technicians. We perform a traditional pantomime on stage with full sets. Auditions start in September with rehearsals every Sunday afternoon from October. Plays & Picnics – This takes place during a weekend in July in one of the Village’s beautiful gardens. We perform two plays, starting about 7pm with an interval for picnics, and finishing as the sun sets. Players are invited to perform by the Director. Tipples & Titbits – This takes place usually in September in the village. It is a wonderful gathering of talents, who individually or as groups take to the stage in turn and entertain. Be it a skit, a poem, a song, a piece of music or a joke or two (finale care of Peter Shearing with his infamous Tommy Cooper impersonation) it is an evening to share it with the village. Other Events - We do also lend our talents to village events. Recently we performed a skit during an Italian Evening which helped to raise funds for the Friends of Leeds & Broomfield Churches. We also supplied a St. George, a screaming princess and a dragon for the St George’s day celebrations in the village!
