Message: My great grandfather John Botting lived in what were then known as Dutts Cottages about 150 yards up the hill from the 10 Bells on the right. He worked a pieve of land which I am told was known as Botting's Platt. I noticed a sign 'Bottins Platt' in the village and wondered if anyone knows whether this is the site of my great grandfather's old patch Replies to this post
